Frequently asked questions
Where is my data stored?
Sankalp is local-first. Your pustikas, writing progress, wishlist, and most settings stay on your device. If you optionally connect an account, we store a small profile (display name, optional photo) on our backend — not your writing pages. See the Privacy Policy.
Optional account (Google, Apple, email)
Signing in is optional. It helps identify you across devices when sync features are available. You can sign out in Settings. To remove cloud account data while keeping local pustikas on your phone, see Delete account in the Privacy Policy (email us until in-app deletion is in your version).
How do pustika reminders work?
When you set a reminder time on a pustika, the app schedules a local notification on your phone for that time each day. Allow notifications when prompted. On Android 12+, you may also need to allow “Alarms & reminders” for on-time delivery when the app is closed.
Notifications are not arriving on time
Check that notifications are enabled for Sankalp in system settings. On Android, open Settings in the app (or system app settings) and confirm alarm/reminder permission if available. Battery saver or aggressive background limits on some phones can delay notifications.
How do I delete my data?
Uninstalling the app removes local data from your device. You can also clear app storage from system settings. See our Privacy Policy for Android and iOS steps. Cloud account deletion is separate — see Account deletion.
App updates
Some improvements ship over the air (OTA) without a store update. If the app asks you to restart, tap Restart to apply. For larger updates, use the link to Google Play or the App Store when prompted.
Jaap audio
Mantra jaap audio plays bundled files on your device. The app does not record from your microphone. If background playback is enabled in a future version, use your phone’s lock-screen media controls to pause or resume.
