Sankalp Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 July 2026
Sankalp (“we”, “our”, “the app”) is a personal devotional companion for likhit japa and related practices. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information the app handles.
Summary
- Sankalp is local-first — your pustikas, writing progress, wishlist, and settings are stored on your device.
- We do not require an account and do not operate a user login system in v1.
- We do not sell your personal data.
Information stored on your device
The app may store locally, using on-device storage (SQLite and similar):
- Pustika and page progress, streaks, and calendar stats
- Wishlist entries and sankalp purpose text you enter
- App preferences (sound, haptics, language, reminders)
- Reminder notification schedules you configure
This data stays on your phone unless you back it up via your device or OS backup features.
Information sent off the device
Sankalp may contact external services only for essential app operation:
- Expo / EAS Update — to check for app updates (OTA) and deliver JavaScript bundles.
- Hosted configuration — to fetch optional update notices, release notes, and this privacy policy URL.
- Google Play / Apple App Store — when you choose to update or rate the app.
We do not intentionally collect devotional content you write in the app on our servers in v1.
Notifications
If you enable reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device for pustika writing times you set. Notification permission is requested only when needed.
Audio
Mantra jaap audio files bundled in the app play locally. Background playback uses standard OS media controls when enabled. Sankalp does not record from your microphone in v1 — the app only plays pre-recorded audio files; it does not listen to or store audio from your device.
Children
Sankalp is a general-audience devotional app. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a dedicated registration flow.
Data retention and deletion
Uninstalling the app removes local app data from the device (subject to OS behaviour). You can also clear data without uninstalling:
- Android: Settings → Apps → Sankalp → Storage → Clear data (wording may vary by device).
- iPhone / iPad: Settings → General → iPhone Storage (or iPad Storage) → Sankalp → Delete App, or Offload App. Offloading removes the app but may keep documents and data until you reinstall; Delete App removes local app data from the device.
If you use iCloud or Google device backup, copies of app data may exist in your backup until those backups are replaced or removed — we do not control third-party backup services.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page from time to time. The “Last updated” date above will change when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the revised policy.
